The Personal Software Process (PSP) addresses an individual developer's ability to consistently deliver high quality software products in a timely manner. Its focus is on instilling discipline in the software development process. Read our white paper, PSP Background, to see how PSP is a process for developing software, how PSP helps individuals perform better, how PSP practice helps meet business objectives (such as better quality, schedule adherence, accurate effort estimates, time to market), and how PSP compares with other process improvement activities. The white paper contains data and information that may be useful for individuals building a PSP justification proposal. The latest metrics say that during a PSP class - unit test defects are reduced 73%, size estimation is improved by 26%, time estimation is improved by 40%, and productivity is improved by 21%! Evidence is beginning to accumulate that these benefits do translate to industrial practice. ServicesThe STSC offers a PSP Adoption Service that addresses engineers training, executive training, line management training, PSP mentoring, and PSP piloting. The STSC offers PSP Training. This is the training outlined in A Discipline for Software Engineering. Our PSP Executive Seminar has proven very effective at building top level commitment to the PSP. It is an excellent kickoff activity for a PSP pilot effort or as a low cost mechanism for building executive understanding. The STSC can also provide assistance in the form of PSP tutorials and PSP management briefings to organizations that are considering PSP and need more information. The STSC's PSP Instructors are SEI certified with strong interests and extensive experience in the application of software engineering principles to the development of software systems. They also possess broad technology adoption experience. Service: Organizational Adoption
