Description

Requirements Engineering
Requirements Engineering (RE) is the science and discipline of eliciting, specifying, analyzing, documenting, and managing requirements.

The goal of the Requirements Engineering Technology Adoption service is to assist an organization successfully identify, evaluate, select, and adopt a technology or technologies which will assist their RE activities of the software life cycle. Emphasis is placed on defining a RE process.

Requirements Engineering Adoption
This service consists of six basic activities:
• Preparation of the organization for change
• Assessment of RE issues and opportunities
• Development of a RE improvement plan
• The identification / development of a new RE process
• The demonstration of the new process through piloting
• Evaluation of pilot results.

Successful evaluation, selection, and adoption of new requirements tools and methods invariably involves a process change and fits within this model.

Building and sustaining a culture that supports change (activity 1) occurs throughout the project.

Our approach to RE process development is to conduct a workshop with the organization's staff. During this workshop the participants learn about RE, become motivated to change, and because they define the new RE process gain ownership in that process.

We provide RE mentoring support during the pilot project.
